GUILHERME ROMA, made his debut in Vitória de Setúbal's starting eleven on the visit to Académica, in the 15th round of the Nacional de Juniores which marked the PLAYERS OF FUTURE forward's return to Coimbra.
- Happy with your debut as a starter at V. Setubal?
- Very happy, it's true... but doubly happy because I have felt from the structure that good work with commitment has practical recognition. In Vitória there are no fixed numbers, in Vitória we have to work to reach our number. I will definitely fight for my number every day.
- Did you feel the weight of your debut as a starter?
- No. I felt very good, then everything becomes easier when you feel like you are a group with a common goal... Here the work is hard, the internal competition is strong, which forces us to be better every day. Regarding my motivation, I have a very pragmatic way of interpreting this, that is: working well, being serious, focused and disciplined, managing our own respect, meaning that motivation is highlighted when commitment translates into great performance.
- Has being asked to work with the senior team increased motivation levels?
- I received the news with great joy and enormous satisfaction. I was awarded for my work and recognized for my dedication. My dream will come... I will continue to dream.
Afterwards, experiencing a day of work with the stars was fantastic. The way they welcomed me and how I was integrated into all of them was very remarkable for a young person who is just starting out in the professional world and who wants to reach the highest level. As for the training... it was wonderful.
- How did it feel to return to Coimbra?
- Playing with Académica was very special, three weeks ago I was on the other side and today I'm here. The reception was very normal and very positive, in fact it couldn't be any other way... as a Briosa player I know that I created my respect, I know the work I did and I know very well that I left my mark with true values and principles. There are certain principles that I will never give up, those principles yesterday proved me right.
I'm a serious player on and off the field...
- Was it a positive week?
- Well, it was a week of work, a week of learning and very fruitful.
The way we work at Vitória is very demanding and very intense. I am amazed by the competitiveness that exists in Vitória, it forces us to improve every day.
- Farense's visit follows. How do you face the challenge?
- It's the perfect game to turn the page and get the three points. Let's work to win the next game. The opponent doesn't interest me, I only care about Vitória... so we have to have a warrior and winning mentality.
